2014 holiday treats and eats
The leaves have turned and most have blown from the trees, so our thoughts turn to hot cider, steaming cups of cocoa, Thanksgiving gatherings and yes, the winter holidays.
We’ve got our gifts ready early this year as we reveal the limited edition holiday products.
Pillsbury Sugar Cookies are back, but we’re also bringing you new and exciting tastes like Betty Crocker Maple Bacon Cookie Mix (sweet and salty deliciousness) and Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch Cereal (all the tastes of cookies and milk).
And everyone’s favorite friends from Disney’s “Frozen” are making a holiday appearance as Pillsbury Ready to Bake Winter Frozen Heart Shape Sugar Cookies hit grocery stores.
Check out a slideshow featuring all of our limited edition seasonal products.
“Everyone loves pumpkin in the fall, but there are so many unique flavors that pop up this time of year,” says Alan Stoffer, associate marketing manager Betty Crocker. “Maple bacon has become an increasingly popular flavor and we wanted to take that trend and see what Betty could do with it. She did not disappoint.”
Look for other flavors like eggnog, gingerbread, peppermint and sugar cookie too.
Yoplait is bringing the flavors of apple season right to your refrigerator with Yoplait Apple Crisp and Yoplait Greek 100 Caramel Apple yogurt.
And when you’ve got a craving for cookie flavors, a breakfast or snack bowl of Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch or Holiday Sprinkles Cookie Crisp as a treat hit the spot when you don’t have time to bake.
“We know people enjoy Cinnamon Toast Crunch, so we wanted to introduce a special version to make the holidays a little more memorable. And what says holidays more than cookies?” says Waylon Good, marketing manager for Big G cereals. “Both cereals take holiday favorites straight to the breakfast bowl.”
And with the holidays come accelerated holiday schedules (and lots of running around).
Better-for-you-snacking options are important to keep handy. That’s why Lärabar is bringing back holiday favorites including Lärabar Snickerdoodle and Lärabar Gingerbread.
“Lärabar is excited to offer holiday goodies that are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan and kosher – and taste just as indulgent as the treats they’re named for,” says Julia Wing-Larson, marketing manager for Lärabar.
Fiber One 90 Calorie Soft Baked Gingerbread Bars and Fiber One 90 Calorie Peppermint Fudge Brownies (available exclusively at Walmart) also are great choices.
Don’t forget about the bowl full of Chex Mix to make your holiday party memorable. Your guests will be buzzing about Chex Mix Muddy Buddies Peppermint Bark and Chex Mix Muddy Buddies Snickerdoodle.
