What’s your job at General Mills? I am a writer. I work with Chairman and CEO Ken Powell on his speeches and presentations, and also dabble in employee communications, video production and various other communication projects.
Favorite General Mills product: Häagen-Dazs ice cream.
Favorite General Mills Trivia: Early General Mills millers used to sit at the “Millers’ Table” at the Minneapolis Club sharing innovation stories with competitors that helped made the work less dangerous for all. The round table is still there today.
When I’m not working, I like to: Watch my daughter play basketball or soccer.
Best cooking advice your parents ever gave you? “It’s not that hard. Just follow my directions!”

External Communications Manager
What’s your job at General Mills? I am an external communications manager in Global Communications, currently working on our sustainability platform and crisis communications.
Favorite General Mills products:Muir Glen Fire Roasted Tomatoes (accept no substitute!), Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix (a huge timesaver when the kids want to make and frost cookies NOW!).
Favorite General Mills Trivia: General Mills developed and launched the Olive Garden in 1982, one of the first Italian restaurant chains!
When I’m not working, I like to: Try new restaurants (I’m a big foodie), cook, watch "Top Chef," remodel our 100-year-old house, and spend time with my adorable kids and husband.
Best cooking advice your parents ever gave you? Your play fridge is not an acceptable place to keep your culinary creations.

What’s your job at General Mills? I oversee internal communications, "A Taste of General Mills" and the annual corporate social responsibility report.
Favorite General Mills products: I like Green Giant Cream Style Corn, Mountain High yogurt and Cascadian Farm Ancient Grains cereal.
Favorite General Mills trivia: That Pillsbury and General Mills are right across the river from each other in Minneapolis. The companies (now one company) built and helped make the Twin Cities what they are today. Also, my legs were used as a stand-in for the Green Giant in a video.
When I’m not working, I like to: sail, bike, canoe, kayak, ski and play basketball. Our family gets together regularly at our cabin in northern Minnesota.
Best cooking advice your parents ever gave you? Never complain about the food. Just eat it and hush up.

Favorite General Mills products: Wheaties and Multi-Grain Cheerios.
Favorite General Mills Trivia: In the 1960s, we were behind the development of the three-man submersible ALVIN, which decades later was used to explore the Titanic wreckage when it was discovered.
When I’m not working, I like to: Go to a batting cage and hit baseballs.

What’s your job at General Mills? I’m the social media manager in Global Communications. I oversee content, engagement and strategy for the company's social channels.
Favorite General Mills products: Nature Valley Oats 'n Dark Chocolate granola bars, Yoplait Greek 100, and Food Should Taste Good Multigrain chips.
Favorite General Mills trivia: U.S. President Ronald Reagan’s first screen test in Hollywood in 1937 came because he won a trip to California in a contest sponsored by Wheaties.
When I’m not working, I like to: Spend time with my family, take photos (of my kids playing sports and other activities, family, nature, etc…). I’m also a basketball junkie.
Best cooking advice your parents ever gave you? Sounds simple, but my mom always made sure she made enough food for everybody. How she ever did that with me and my two brothers at the table is a mystery.

What’s your job at General Mills? As director of corporate public relations, I lead a talented team responsible for managing public relations and social media at General Mills. We share the latest company news through both traditional and social media.
Favorite General Mills products: Honey Nut Cheerios, Totino’s pizza, Yoplait yogurt, Häagen-Dazs ice cream fondue.
Favorite General Mills trivia: Betty Crocker was created in 1921 as a pen name to personalize letters to consumers. She became so popular that in 1945, Betty Crocker was the second most recognizable female in the country after Eleanor Roosevelt. Today, this hip lady has her own iPhone and iPad apps, and runs an online cooking school.
When I’m not working, I like to: Travel with my husband and two young daughters as much as possible, hiking or boating in Northern Minnesota, building sand castles in Hawaii, and exploring new places.
Best cooking advice your parents ever gave you? When I graduated college, my parents gave me a cookbook called, “Help! My Apartment Has a Kitchen” that is full of advice I still reference today.

What’s your job at General Mills? I’m director of issues management on our Global Communications team. I get to work with wonderfully knowledgeable experts from across the company and beyond to identify, prioritize and manage issues that impact, or might impact, General Mills.
Favorite General Mills products: I love Cascadian Farm Dark Chocolate Granola.
Favorite General Mills Trivia: That General Mills was once one of the largest producers of vitamin D in the world – saving us all from a life of taking cod liver oil, and generations of children from the effects of rickets.
When I’m not working, I like to: Travel to new places and try new things. Since I’m new to Minnesota, this can include restaurants, trails, theatre, museums, sporting activities/events – right on our doorstep.
Best cooking advice your parents ever gave you? My Mum gave me a picture-filed cook book called “Shortbread” when I was 5. The cookies turned out to be pretty delicious. So whenever I am daunted by a cooking project, I just remember: hey, a 5 year old could do this!
