Dancing Doughboys and Mary Mary

What do you get when you combine award winning music group Mary Mary, 14 dancing Pillsbury Doughboys and free breakfast?

A spectacle, that’s for sure.

Monday morning, Chicago commuters streaming into Union Station were greeted by the Pillsbury Doughboy during an event to mark the launch of Pillsbury Grands! Biscuit Sandwiches and Pillsbury Egg Scrambles.

After samples were handed out at Union Station, it was time for the “Doughboy Breakfast Boogie.” That’s when 14 costumed Doughboys emerged from a nearby room to spread out and perform with 25 dancers from Culture Shock. Little Green Sprout from Green Giant also joined in, along with fresh vegetable and egg props, a nod to the fresh ingredients in the new products.

“It was a whole lot of fun to start a Monday!” says Tammy Sadinsky Martin, marketing director for Pillsbury. “And just to see the authentic delight on the commuters’ faces, it was a great event and effort to try something new for this product launch.”

Mary Mary, the singing duo of sisters Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell, also appeared and spoke to the crowd. Their song, “Brand New Morning” is part of Pillsbury’s ad campaign for the new products.

Here’s some video of the dancing Doughboys.
