The view from the top

Alan Rappeport of the Financial Times recently interviewed Ken Powell, our Chairman and CEO, for the FT’s “View From the Top” online video feature.

The FT has posted that interview on its website.

The 10-minute conversation in New York covers several topics, including managing cost inflation through holistic margin management (HMM), innovating with consumer trends, our growth in China, and our plans for Yoplait.

The Financial Times also asked about our health and wellness initiatives. Powell told Rappeport that beyond taste and convenience, consumers tell us they want health benefits from the foods they buy.

“It’s really an opportunity for companies like General Mills,” said Powell. “When we combine all three of those things in products we do very, very well.”
