A box worth tearing open

When it comes to food, toddlers can be a lot like puppies. They squabble over treats, assume everyone else’s grub tastes better, and hoard goodies. We have an example in our latest “Fans of our Brands” feature.

Carrie Morris of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin recently took this picture of her three-year-old daughter Danielle. Can you tell she loves Honey Nut Chex?

You can see her, sound asleep, curled up next to a mangled box of the cereal. Her little paws – I mean hands – are ready to clutch the box in case anyone tries to swipe it.

Morris told us she had gone grocery shopping the day before the picture perfect moment.

“After I put away all the groceries, I noticed the box of Honey Nut Chex was missing. I looked over into my living room, and apparently, Danielle had stolen it from the bag and tried to tear into it right away.”

The next night after her bath, Danielle went for the Chex again. She took the cereal off the kitchen counter and headed for a chair in the living room.

“My daughter has been a very fussy eater these days,” explains Morris. “I am happy for her to get any food in her, much less something nutritious. So, I allowed her to munch away on the cereal.”

About twenty minutes later, it was a little too quiet. Morris discovered her daughter sleeping with the cereal like a puppy passed out by a bone.

After posting the picture on Facebook, friends encouraged Morris to contact us. And we’re so glad she did.

Thank you for taking the picture and sharing it with us, Carrie!
