Tuesday’s Taste – July 24, 2012

Now that we’ve hit mid-summer, the gardens that were planted long ago and lovingly tended are starting to pay off. But what to do with all that garden fresh produce?

Here are some ideas from the General Mills family of recipe websites.

Lemony Garden Vegetable Risotto – Tablespoon.com

Tablespoon.com blogger BevCooks dreams up a fresh and creamy way to use those piles of tomatoes, zucchini and chives.

Fresh-From-The-Garden Salsa – EatBetterAmerica.com

This tomato, pepper and cilantro-packed salsa can be used on everything from tacos to omelets with bright and zesty results.

Garden Vegetable Lasagna – BettyCrocker.com

Use jarred tomato sauce or make your own sauce with your bushels of tomatoes and you’ll have a healthy Italian dinner on the table in no time.

Marinated Garden Tortellini Salad – Pillsbury.com

Any and all garden veggies would be a perfect complement to this cool salad that’s hearty enough to be a main meal.

Enjoy the heat this week and let us know, in the comments below, what you’re doing with your garden bounty this summer!
