The Girl Who Ate Everything
Christy Denney cooks, bakes, writes and photographs the popular blog, The Girl Who Ate Everything.
Oh yeah … she and her husband also have four young children.
Denney grew up in Mesa, Ariz. and is the youngest of 10 children. She moved to Florida and started her blog in 2008. “I found that cooking family recipes made me feel closer to my family thousands of miles away,” she says.
She started working with General Mills through the PlateFull network. “I jumped on the opportunity,” Denney says.
In 2010, she even made a visit to the Betty Crocker Kitchens and our Photography Studios.
She now also collaborates with Tablespoon.com and is a popular contributor. “I make the recipe, photograph it and write a post to go along with it,” she says. “It’s a lot of fun and sometimes they ask me for some unusual recipes. But that gets me out of my comfort zone.”
One of Denney’s most popular and tasty Tablespoon.com recipes are her “Lasagna Cupcakes” – layers of savory meat, gooey cheese and pasta baked in a muffin tin to make them bite-sized and portable.
She also loves the “BLT Dip” that she contributed to BettyCrocker.com.
“It was the result of a lot of experimenting and is a man-pleasing dip,” she said. “Trust me, my husband had to taste ten versions of it!”
Denney says Pinterest has opened a whole new world of recipe inspiration for her, but what she’s really inspired by are the recipes passed along to her by friends and family members because they have a story behind them.
