Is North America ready for retail ready packaging?

Retail Ready Packaging, or RRP, is a hot topic for packaging experts in the North American consumer package goods industry and among retailers.

The current issue of Packaging Digest Magazine includes an article on RRP written by Tom Hammann, an operations business manager for General Mills.

The article, named “Retail-ready packaging myth busters,” describes six key considerations Tom believes packaging professionals should consider when evaluating the adoption of RRP for widespread use in North America.

RRP is a method of packaging to make the products easier for the retailers to stock, as shown in this photo of Betty Crocker cookie mixes on a shelf at a retailer in the UK.

Have you noticed RRP packaging in your local retail stores?
