Ultimate Snackadium puts on a super show

To inspire passionate football fans and game day party hosts, Pillsbury unveiled the Ultimate Snackadium during the Taste of the NFL’s “Party with a Purpose” this past weekend in New Orleans.

I was there to see more than 3,000 guests gaze at the 7-foot-by-10-foot appetizer stadium, which included an edible field, players, end zones, and fans. The majority of the Snackadium was created with Pillsbury fresh dough products, like Crescents and Pizza Crust, highlighting the versatility and endless possibilities that these products offer.

The Ultimate Snackadium took two days to create and a small army of people. It was about three sizes bigger than the one Pillsbury made in the General Mills Photo Studios, to promote on Pillsbury.com.

On the first day, the base and outside of the Snackadium were created – these were the only non-edible pieces. The outside of the Snackadium was created with Pillsbury Pizza Crust, Pillsbury Crusty French Loaf and Chex Mix. Our food stylist spelled out “Pillsbury!” with Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels on the side of the stadium.

At the event, the Snackadium was received with great interest by consumers, media and culinary experts alike. Attendees were very impressed and engaging with Pillsbury’s creation, taking photos and sampling our recipes.

Attendees also were able to sample recipes like Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels and Crescent Pizza Pockets. Everyone had a favorite! However, the winner for fan favorite were the Mini Crescent Dogs – which made up the spectators in the stands. Other favorites included the Mini King Cakes, made with Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, and the recently launched Green Giant Veggie Chips.

Here are a few fun facts about the Ultimate Snackadium, it included:

  • 575 Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels
  • 200 Crescent Pizza Pockets
  • 4 Football Pizzas
