Sunday morning showcase for Cheerios

CBS Sunday Morning featured Cheerios – and two of the the brand’s commercials from the last year – in a feature yesterday that highlighted the stories in those ads and the reaction to them.

Mark Addicks, a senior vice president and our chief marketing officer, was interviewed for the story, titled “The Modern American family.”

Cheerios produced the “Just Checking” commercial last May, and “Gracie” this January.

Mark was asked about the consumer reaction to those ads. And when asked about the changes in family structures over the years, he said:

“What has stayed the same are the traditional values and desires to bring a family together, to nurture kids, to make them develop and be everything they can be. That has not changed.”

CBS sent a crew to our headquarters earlier this month to interview Mark. Rita Braver was the reporter on the story.
