Win cheesecake for a year

National Cheesecake Day may have been yesterday, but Fiber One isn’t ready to stop celebrating the tasty treat.

The brand has coined August its “Cheesecake Appreciation Month.”

Why cheesecake?

Because Fiber One now has guilt-free Cheesecake Bars. And throughout August you can enter a sweepstakes to win free cheesecake bars for a year.

To kick off the month-long celebration and introduce the new bars, Fiber One ran a pop-up Cheesecake Café sampling event at Grand Central Station in New York City yesterday.

Thousands of commuters received samples of the new bars from brand ambassadors dressed in soda-shop style outfits.

The Salted Caramel and Strawberry Cheesecake flavored bars were a hit, and many taste testers snapped photos with their snacks at the café before going on their way.

The celebration spread throughout the social sphere, too, beginning with a tweet from Betty White:

White’s tweet was a nod to her years on the television show “The Golden Girls,” where one of the lead characters often suggested “But first, let’s eat cheesecake,” before discussing other issues.

Lisa Lillien of Hungry Girl also shared the Fiber One news. She’s best known for offering healthy eating tips and guilt-free ways to indulge.

Fiber One’s new bars definitely qualify as a guilt-free indulgence, since each individually-wrapped cheesecake has five grams of fiber and only 150 calories.

“Fiber One Cheesecake Bars have cheesecake taste and texture that fulfill cheesecake cravings,” says Maria Lopez, associate marketing manager for Fiber One. “It’s a guilt-free option inspired by a classic American dessert.”

Now through Aug. 31, consumers can participate in the celebration by entering the Fiber One Cheesecake Appreciation Month Sweepstakes for the chance to win weekly and cash prizes, with one grand prize winner chosen after the sweepstakes closes on Aug. 31.
