Searching for a Real Trix Rabbit
Calling all rabbits and rabbit wannabe’s!
Strike a pose and wiggle your nose, because we are looking for an honorary Trix Rabbit! Today marks the first day of a three-week open casting call to find a #RealTrixRabbit.
Don’t worry, our iconic cartoon Trix Rabbit isn’t going away. In fact, the search for a real rabbit is intended to celebrate the Trix Rabbit – who hopped onto the cereal scene in 1958 – and our commitment to removing artificial flavors and colors from artificial sources from our cereals.
“We hope consumers can appreciate and celebrate what we’re doing by removing artificial flavors and colors from artificial sources, because ultimately we’re making this change for them,” says Steve Bruch, associate marketing manager, Cereal. “They’ve been asking for these improvements on our product and we feel like we cracked the code to still make fun, vibrant colors. So this contest is a great way to celebrate the Trix Rabbit, and the milestone that by January 2016, Trix and 75 percent of our Big G cereals will be free of artificial flavors and colors from artificial sources.”
From real rabbits to pets in bunny costumes, kids, parents and family members are invited to snap pictures or take videos of their furry friends and upload them to RealTrixRabbit.com.
When reviewing the #RealTrixRabbit submissions, the Trix team will select the finalist based on three criteria.
“One is creativity. We also are looking for a good representation of the Trix Rabbit and the brand itself. Last, we want a bunny or a pet with bunny ears, whatever it might be, to really look cute and fun,” Steve says. “We feel this gives a good opportunity for our Trix fans to get creative, show off their pets and share engaging content.”
The winning rabbit will be featured on its own commemorative, limited-run Trix box in the rabbit’s hometown.
Applicants can scope out the competition and follow our journey to find the Real Trix Rabbit by following #RealTrixRabbit on social media from October 20 to November 8, 2015.
