Your ticket to great taste and Rogue One
Are you a cereal-loving Star Wars fan who is super excited for the first standalone film put out by the iconic franchise?
Well, buying three specially-marked boxes of Big G Cereals can get you a ticket to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which opens this weekend.
Boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, Reese’s Puffs, Trix and Cookie Crisp, hitting store shelves in the U.S. this month, feature an offer for a free movie ticket to the film (up to $12 value) when you buy three of the specially-marked cereals in a single transaction.
You can get your tickets in a snap, literally.
After you buy three boxes of participating cereal you just text or email a picture of your receipt per the instructions found on the box.
The Cereal team created an action packed digital ad to help get the word out about this out of the galaxy offer. Watch the spot, here.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set right before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and tells the story of a rogue band of resistance fighters who unite on a daring mission to steal the plans of the Death Star and bring new hope to the galaxy.
This is the first time we’ve been able to bring a Star Wars movie ticket to Big G Cereal lovers at this scale.
The General Mills association with Star Wars runs deep. General Mills owned Kenner in 1977 when the toy company released the first Star Wars action figures.
“Fans have come to look forward to collaborations between General Mills cereals and Star Wars,” says Hope Zeckmeister, marketing communications planner, Cereal. “Our cereals help fuel the fandom for every Star Wars household, and we love that the appeal is cross-generational, just like our cereal.”
Buy four bags of Chex Mix, featuring limited edition Rogue One: A Star Wars Story packaging, and upload your receipt to drvsusa.com/chexmixmovie/
Sorry cereal and snack lovers, but you can’t mix and match the cereal and Chex Mix to get a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie ticket.
The movie hits theaters this Friday, December 16.
