Monster Cereals history mashup

Summer is over, school is in session and Halloween is just around the corner.

It’s safe to say Monster Cereals season is officially upon us.

Jessica Faucher, our archivist, and Katie Gamache from our Archives team, decided to treat fans to a mashup of Monster Cereal memories.

The latest “Inside the General Mills Archives” video features plenty of eye candy, ranging from old boxes to sweet promotional items.

Back in the 1970s and ’80s Count Chocula, Franken Berry, Boo Berry, Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute Cereals were available all year long.

Eventually, Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute were discontinued, and the trio of Boo, Count and Franken became seasonal cereals, much to some fans’ dismay.

We can’t bring the flavorful five back together this year. But we hope you agree the next best thing is making all of our Monsters the focus of the latest episode of our “Inside the General Mills Archives” video series.
