Celeb do-gooders collect Buzzcoin for charity

Honey Nut Cheerios’ new Good Rewards program is a friendly competition focused on making good go round.

It’s a fun, interactive, program to encourage families to pay it forward by collecting “Buzzcoin” for their team.

Buzzcoin is a symbol located on the back or side of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal box that represents points you can donate to your team. Participants will have the opportunity to scan their Buzzcoin and donate it to the celebrity team and charity they want to support.

Buzz The Bee enlisted three talented celebrity do-gooders to help create buzz for the program and score points for charities.

Serving as team captains as they compete for a chance to win $100,000 for their charity, the Good Rewards team roster includes:

Professional football superstar Rob Gronkowski for The Gronk Nation Youth Foundation – For years, Gronkowski has inspired young people to reach their maximum potential in everything they do. Representing The Gronk Nation Youth Foundation, which is dedicated to helping kids stay actively involved in school and sports, Gronk will continue his mission as a Good Rewards captain, encouraging kids to do good.

“Honey Nut Cheerios has always been a staple cereal for me and my family. In fact, growing up in Buffalo, where Cheerios are made, we could always smell the Cheerios in the air, so it’s definitely a brand I’ve known and loved for years and is a dream come true to be featured on the box for Good Rewards and be a part of a program that can help three great causes,” says Gronkowski. “The Gronk Nation Youth Foundation is dedicated to inspiring kids to reach their potential through sports, education, community and fitness. Sports had such a positive impact on me when I was a kid, so by joining my team, we can work together to help give kids the tools needed to help them follow their dreams and live a happy and more successful life.”

Actress Lucy Hale for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) – As an animal-lover with a passion for giving back, Hale exemplifies the spirit of Good Rewards. She will lead her team on behalf of the ASPCA, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals.

“Having the opportunity to give back is really important to me, which is why I was so excited when I heard that Honey Nut Cheerios was launching Good Rewards. Honey Nut Cheerios was my breakfast of choice growing up and is a staple in my house to this day. Apart from being delicious, they make giving back and doing good fun and achievable for everyone, which is a win-win in my book,” Hale explains. “There are so many great organizations to support – including the ones of my competitors – but for me, I’m a huge animal lover. As anyone that follows me knows, I’m obsessed with my dog, Elvis. Animals are so pure and they don’t have a voice, which is why I chose ASPCA, because they are the voice for these animals. Who wouldn’t want to help raise money for puppies and kittens!?”

Actor and producer Michael B. Jordan for Feeding America – Not only a superhero on-screen, but now in real life, Jordan has a passion for helping others and will be competing for Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization leading the charge to help end hunger in our country.

“I’ve grown up eating Honey Nut Cheerios and to this day it’s still one of my go-to meals for breakfast. But beyond the food, I really appreciate what Honey Nut Cheerios stands for and their desire to do good and make it easy for others to do the same. When I heard about Good Rewards it was an easy decision for me to sign up as a team captain,” says Jordan. “One in eight Americans struggles with hunger, which is something we all need to come together to try to solve. I chose to support Feeding America so that my team can help make a dent in this issue and help provide quality, healthy food to hungry families across the country.”
