For World Soil Day 2019 (Dec. 5), we’ve posted a bonus episode of our “A Taste of General Mills” podcast.

It’s an interview with Gabe Brown, a pioneer in soil health and the regenerative agriculture movement.

It was recorded during an event with employees at our World Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Steve Rosenzweig, soil scientist at General Mills, led the conversation.

Brown, who farms in North Dakota, wrote “Dirt to Soil: One Family’s Journey into Regenerative Agriculture.”

He shares lessons from his experience and how he’s educating farmers about the benefits of regenerative agriculture. And he offers advice for getting started.

Since 2016, General Mills has invested more than $5.5 million to build healthy soil and restore this precious resource – including soil research, perennial crop development, and partnering with supplier and growers.

And in 2019, we made a commitment to advance the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices on 1 million acres of farmland by 2030.

While we are early in our journey, we are working with Understanding Ag to hold soil health academies and provide 1:1 coaching for farmers.
