Cheerios and Instacart partner to launch ‘Day of Giving’

On Saturday, September 25, you have the opportunity to help give breakfast to a child who might otherwise not have it.

For the entire day, on September 25,  every purchase of Cheerios on Instacart will trigger a $1 donation from Cheerios to No Kid Hungry, up to $30,000. This includes all flavors and sizes of Cheerios.

You have from 12 a.m. PST to 11:59 p.m. PST.

As kids across the U.S. have re-entered the classroom this fall, 1 in 6 children could struggle with hunger.[1] This hunger affects everything, including the ability to learn.

Cheerios is teaming up with No Kid Hungry because they have a plan to help feed kids — now and in the months to come.

“One of Cheerios’ brand ambitions is to ensure all kids have access to breakfast,” says Kathy Dixon, senior manager, Brand Experience, Cheerios. “This partnership with No Kid Hungry and Instacart is one step closer to helping solve the breakfast gap.”

Cheerios has a longstanding relationship with No Kid Hungry.

Last summer, Cheerios donated $1.3 million to No Kid Hungry to support kids facing hunger in the wake of COVID-19.

“No Kid Hungry and Cheerios’ relationship is founded upon a mutual dedication to fill kid’s bellies,” says Diana Hovey, senior vice president, Corporate Partnerships, Share Our Strength. “As we continue to work to rebuild from the pandemic, we know this partnership is crucial in helping to ensure kids have access to the food they need and are able to learn, grow and reach their full potential.”

The partnership with Instacart, however, is the first of its kind for the brand.

“Instacart is proud to join Cheerios and No Kid Hungry in helping to ensure all kids have access to a healthy breakfast,” says Jennifer Meyer, regional director of Brand Partnerships at Instacart. “Instacart’s mission is to create a world where everyone has access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together and through this Instacart Ads campaign, we’re proud to help empower customers to make a difference while filling their virtual carts.”

“We know the pandemic has been hard for so many kids, so we want to make sure we do everything we can to ensure kids have access to a healthy breakfast,” adds Dixon.
